PHOTOS: I-24 east in Grundy County reopens following crash

GRUNDY COUNTY, TN -

(WRCB) -- A tractor-trailer crash shut down a portion I-24 east in Grundy County Wednesday.

It happened at mile maker 131 on Monteagle Mountain.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the driver and passenger, who was in the sleeper, were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The THP says a crash involving two tractor-trailers and a car also happened at mile marker 162, just three miles from another tractor-trailer crash that shut down I-24E at mile marker 165.

Minor injuries were reported, but no one was taken to a hospital.

All lanes affected by these crashes have reopened.

The THP says a total of six wrecks involving tractor-trailers occurred on I-24 Wednesday.
