Warming, rain mid-week and cooling by the weekend

Posted: Updated:

Good Monday.  After a chilly weekend, and a cool start to our Monday, we will see warmer weather moving back in for a few days.

Today will see a nice mix of sun and clouds with highs climbing into the low 60s.  Tonight will be a bit warmer than last night as the temp drops to about 50 by Tuesday morning.  Tuesday afternoon will get to 66 with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance for a shower.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy as the high gets to 68.  Late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening a line of storms will move through, the biggest threat being from heavy rain.  I expect about 2" of rain from this system in a short period of time.  That could lead to some areas of flash flooding late Wednesday.

Behind this front, we will clear out Thursday.  Skies will be mostly sunny and the high will be in the mid 60s.  Cooler air will filter back in Friday.  We will start at about 40 in the afternoon and only manage a high of 58.

Over the weekend, lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s.  Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.  No rain for the weekend.

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.

The roads will be very slick including interstates and main city roads Tuesday night because of these cold temperatures. So travel should be discouraged.
