The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB), through its partnership with Feeding America, was named one of the beneficiaries of NBC's "Red Nose Day" special, which was televised in May of 2015.

Through the Red Nose Day Fund, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank received $10,000 in support of its Back Pack initiative addressing child hunger.

Nationwide, the money raised during Red Nose Day was used to fund programs that address the immediate needs of children and young people living in poverty in the United States and internationally in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

"In our area (Chattanooga), one in four children doesn't know where their next meal is coming from. The funds we've received will directly impact the families we serve," said Marisa Ogles, Director of External Relations.

The CAFB was selected as a recipient of funds based on the region's food insecurity rate and the geographic location.
