Girl Scout Cookie prices will not increase in 2016

Posted: Updated:

According to a press release due recent national news stories reporting that the price of Girl Scout cookies will be increasing in 2016.

The Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians (GSCSA) will not increase prices next year. Thin Mints, Samoas, and other favorites will still be available at $4 per box.

The price of a box of Girl Scout Cookies is determined individually by each of the 112 local councils in the country.

“When you buy cookies from a Girl Scout, you’re investing in so much more than a fun treat—you’re investing in a girl’s future, and the future leadership of our country,” says Heather Hatmaker, Director of Revenue for GSCSA.

Locally, GSCSA’s cookie program returns $1 million every year, directly to girls, to fund their experiences, adventures and service projects.

The council’s 2016 sale begins on January 16. National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is February 26-28.
