UPDATE: Suspect arrested, one seriously injured

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies took Tyler Andrew Jernigan into custody, Sunday morning.

The 24-year-old was wanted on charges of aggravated assault in connection to the stabbing incident on Birchwood Pike, Friday night. Jernigan was located in the 9800 block of Birchwood Pike, just two doors down from where the stabbing occurred.

Authorities say the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was immediately rushed into surgery due to potentially life-threatening injuries. The condition of that victim is unknown at this time. Stay with Channel 3 News on air and online for the very latest.  


PREVIOUS STORY: Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a stabbing that injured one person, Friday night.

Deputies responded to the 9800 block of Birchwood Pike, where they found the victim unresponsive. Authorities say the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was immediately rushed into surgery due to potentially life-threatening injuries. Investigators are actively working the case and have obtained warrants for Tyler Andrew Jernigan, 24, charging him with aggravated assault. He is described as white male,  5'11 tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
