ATLANTA (WXIA) - A three-day-old puppy was rescued after apparently being tossed from the window of a moving vehicle.

According to Jennifer Siegel of Bosley's Place, a non-profit puppy rescue group, the dog was dumped at a fire station on Fairburn Road in southwest Atlanta. Firefighters contacted Bosley's Place, who picked up the puppy and brought her to Loving Hands Animal Clinic in Alpharetta.

A veterinarian said the puppy's injuries were consistent with being tossed from a moving car.

Officials with Bosley's Place say the puppy has a long road to recovery. They are seeking information about the dog's previous owner.
