Driver's education classes coming to Walker County

Posted: Updated:

Driver’s education is coming to Northwest Georgia.

Northwest Georgia Technical College will begin driver’s education classes in January of 2016.

According to a press release, the program is being funded by a state grant and will provide drivers with more than 30 hours of training.

“This grant will help Georgia Northwestern Technical College equip young drivers in the community to be safer when they get behind the wheel,” says Georgia Driver’s Education Commission chairman Harris Blackwood.

Classes will be offered on-site at Ridgeland High School beginning in January 2016 to students qualifying for scholarships and behind-the-wheel instruction will be offered at Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga.
