The majority of employees at condemned Superior Creek Lodge are now without jobs.

Attorney Jerry Summers, who represents the extended stay motel’s owner, tells Channel 3 the decision was shared with employees over the weekend and took effect today.

The only employees left on payroll are security guards. Two guards will remain on staff to watch the property during the day. Additional security personnel will stay on for the night shift.

Summers says he will meet with his client, David Gysin, later this week to discuss the future of the building.

Superior Creek Lodge was condemned by the City of East Ridge in September after inspectors identified serious structural issues. Hundreds of residents were forced out of their homes when the property’s four buildings were condemned.
