DSC Soccer preps for SSAC post-season

MONTGOMERY, AL  (dsroadrunners.com) --  The first year Dalton State soccer team will travel to William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Ms. on Friday for the quarterfinals of the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship.

The No. 5 seed Roadrunners (11-6-1 overall, 4-4 SSAC) and No. 4 seed Crusaders (9-6-3, 4-2-2) are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. CT.

William Carey has four wins, two losses and three ties at their home soccer field. Dalton State has five wins, three losses and a tie as a visitor.

"This is the toughest soccer conference in the country," said Coach Kerem Daser. "We look forward to a good week of training and we will give our best effort in the conference tournament."

Other quarterfinal match-ups will have No. 8 seed Auburn Montgomery (8-7-2, 2-5-1) at No. 1 seed Mobile (11-5-2, 5-1-2), No. 7 seed Middle Georgia State (6-12, 3-5) at No. 2 seed Martin Methodist (Tenn.) (11-5-2, 5-1-2) and No. 6 seed Faulkner (Ala.) (9-6-1, 4-4)  at No. 3 seed Bethel (Tenn.) (7-6-1, 5-2-1).

The semifinals and championship game will be played at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex Stadium in Montgomery, Ala.

The semifinal round will take place at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 11th and the championship game will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13th.
