CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Neighbors were just returning home from their Halloween parties when they say an argument broke out on Olive Street. They heard a young woman begging her father to stop fighting with her boyfriend. That fight eventually turned deadly.

Neighbors say 47 year-old,  Timothy Harris lived at 609 Olive Street, with his little black dog. “He would let the dog out and he would come and chase the girls into the house, they enjoyed it,” said one neighbor.

Harris was gunned down early Sunday morning. Neighbors say that followed an argument between his daughter and her boyfriend in the overnight hours. The boyfriend eventually left. “He didn't deserve to sit out there in the street and take his last breath. He didn't deserve that. I shouldn't have seem him like that.”

Witnesses say, a black Jeep drove by and someone inside began shooting at Harris as he stood in the street with his daughter. The Jeep then drove off. Witnesses say this is not the neighborhood where you typically hear about violence and shootings. “Whatever happened they brought it to our community. That is what we got to stop. We have to stop people from bringing this violence in our neighborhoods.”

As investigators towed his truck for evidence neighbors say they will miss Mr. Timothy and the laughs he brought to Olive Street. “He didn't bother anybody. He went to work, and went home. Walked his dog, chatted with you, he just remodeled his house. He was a loving dad.”

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department's Violence Crimes Bureau are working to determine the facts surrounding this incident. Investigators say they are following multiple leads.

Authorities say there is no suspect information available at this time.
