UPDATE: EPB working to restore power to most of East Brainerd

UPDATE: EPB crews are working another power outage in the East Brainerd area. This one happened around 3:00 p.m.  An EPB official says crews are working to find the problem at the East Brained substation.  More than 23,000 customers are without power.  No timeframe was given for when the power will be back on. 


PREVIOUS: EPB spokesman John Pless tells Channel 3  that EPB's he smart grid immediately identified a problem with a section of our distribution system and restored power to all but about 100 customers.

Crews are investigating the cause, which may be due a fallen tree.


PREVIOUS STORY: Over 500 households and businesses in the East Brainerd area are experiencing a power outage Wednesday morning.

Additionally, there’s an area north of Red Bank into Harrison that affects 100-200 EPB customers

EPB’s outage map shows the affected areas to be sizable.

There’s currently no estimate on when power will be restored.
