Fort O police ask for public's help in finding robbery suspect

Posted: Updated:
FORT OGLETHORPE, GA (WRCB) -

Fort Oglethorpe police are searching for two suspects who attempted to rob a convenience store on Cloud Springs Road October 11.

The victim told police two black males came into the store to buy cigarettes and pulled a knife on the clerk.

Demanding money, one of the suspects threatened the clerk who pushed him backward and ran into the storage room and barricaded himself inside.

The suspects allegedly kept kicking the door, and the clerk then threw about $700 dollars of his own money at them. He told police that the men picked up the money and then left.

The clerk told police the two men then left in a dark passenger car, but could not provide police with any other description or information.

Fort O police then created a composite of one of the suspects, who is described as:

  • Black male
  • Muscular build, broad chest
  • About 6-feet, 1-inch tall
  • About 38 years old
  • Thin mustache and beard
  • Neck tattoo

If you have information on the robbery of the suspects, please call the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department at 706-866-2512.

Good Wednesday.  Today is special because it marks the first day we see our average temperature start to recede.  The average high for yesterday's date was 90.  The average high for today's date is 89. As we progress through today we will notice our humidity levels dropping and skies clearing.  Temperatures will also be about 5 degrees lower than yesterday (93 was the high in Chattanooga Tuesday).  The bottom line: awesome weather is settling in.
