Eddie Dale Rice, 52, of Sweetwater has been charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Both the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Federal Marshals helped track Rice down.

PREVIOUS STORY: Sheila Crowe planned to cookout with her neighbor.

“She said BBQ pork chops, mushrooms, and your famous lemon pie, and I said: "ok I can do that,” said Crowe.

Unfortunately, Crowe didn't eat any of that food with her neighbor Saturday night.

“She passed on, that tore me up,” said Crowe.

Her neighbor Ann Marie Gober, was gunned down in the yard of this home on Elrod Circle early Saturday morning.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, it all started when Gober's boyfriend, Chuck Adams heard a truck approach this home, he stepped outside to take a look.

“As he approached the truck, he was met by gunfire,” said Sheriff Steve Ross,

The gunfire got the attention of Adams' girlfriend,  Ann Marie Gober.

“And the mother heard the gunfire and she went running out, and she was shot as well,” said Ross.

Gober was shot twice in the upper torso and once in the arm she died at Erlanger.

Her boyfriend was hit in the right thigh, he's recovering at Erlanger

“I feel so sorry for Chuck, he's going to miss her so much,” said Crowe.

Sheriff Ross says the gunman fled after firing the shots. He says his team is looking for the person responsible for Saturday’s murder.

Gober's neighbors say they just want justice.

“God have mercy on their souls, make them pay for what they did to Marie, she didn't deserve it,” said Crowe.

The sheriff tells Channel 3 it's unclear the gunman’s motive. He tells Channel 3 this is Polk County’s first murder of the year.

If you can help the Sheriff's Office catch the suspect call (423) 338-8215.
