UPDATE: TBI investigating Chattanooga cop after inappropriate communication

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: The 11th District Attorney General Neal Pinkston has asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to investigate the case.

Officer Robin Davenport has been accused of inappropriately communicating with a minor via text message.


PREVIOUS STORY: The Chattanooga Police Department received a complaint alleging inappropriate communication via text message concerning Officer Robin Davenport. An Internal Affairs investigations has been initiated and the officer in question has been placed on administrative leave with pay, per policy.

Chattanooga Police Department spokesman Kyle Miller tells Channel 3 "At this time no additional details are available concerning this Internal Affairs investigation. The Chattanooga Police Department will keep you informed as soon as additional information can be made available."

"It's not appropriate for me to comment until the investigation is complete," said Chief of Police Fred Fletcher.
