Bucs set sail past Meigs 28-7

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN  (WRCB) ---  Coming into the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneer barge, Meigs County knew they'd need some good luck early and they get it on their first punt after an opening three and out.
Kohl Henke muffs the punt and Casey Tate recovers, setting up a Tyler Lawson rushing touchdown for a Meigs 7-0 lead.
But Boyd Buchanan strikes back, Cooper Hodge hooking up with Henke as he gets some hard earned yards after catch.
It's a 14 play drive accentuated by Hodge and his six yard run for touchdown.  We're tied at 7 all.
Meigs Tigers' Head Coach Jason Fitzgerald trying to rally his troops from the sideline.
After 2 fourth down conversions, Meigs stumbles with this Zy Moore fumble, the defense would hold but on the next Meigs possession, Moore coughs it up again and this time they'll pay.
E.J. Matthews, partly obscured by the linesman makes it 14-7 with another rushing touchdown before lightning delays the game.

Boyd pushed another touchdown before an abbreviated halftime and then play ball control for much of the second half and score another touchdown to ice, 28-7 the final.

The Bucs are now 7-0 as the Tigers fall to 3-4.
