Chattanooga firefighters visit girl they pulled from wrecked car

Posted: Updated:

A group of Chattanooga firefighters who pulled a little girl out of a wrecked car on Monday made a surprise visit at Children's Hospital.

On Monday after the wreck, the girl told them it was her birthday. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. So the group of firefighters returned Wednesday with birthday gifts.

“They knew she wasn't having a very good day on her birthday. She was very excited to see the firefighters again,” according to a Facebook post on Chattanooga Fire Department’s page.

Captain Michael Davenport, Lt. Brian Pemberton, FFS Sean Mayfield and Firefighter Christopher Precise were among the firefighters who made the hospital visit.

"They decided to do this on their own," the post continues."This is why people like firefighters!"
