NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Local organizers will open an outdoor ice rink and take over the park across the street from the Nashville Predators' arena starting Dec. 12 as part of the events for the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.
Officials announced their plans for what they're calling Winter Park.
Fans will be able to rent skates at the rink, and Olympic gold medal skater Scott Hamilton also will bring his students for exhibitions. The park will host watch parties for both Predators' games and the Winter Classic, and concerts also are planned.
The Music City Center, Nashville's convention center, will host the NHL Fan Fair between Jan. 28 and Jan. 31.
Predators chief executive officer Jeff Cogen says the rink will help kick off a six-week celebration for the All-Star Game on Jan. 31
