Warm and dry through Thursday. Rain Friday. Cool this weekend.

Posted: Updated:

Good Tuesday.  Average highs this time of year are in the mid 70s.  We will be way above that for the next few days with changes on the way for the weekend.

Today, look for a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 82.  It will be nice this evening with temps in the 70s, and we will drop to 60 degrees overnight into Wednesday morning.

I don't expect much change Wednesday and Thursday.  Skies will be mostly sunny both days with highs in the low 80s.  Clouds will begin to build in Thursday night as a front approaches the area.

The front will move through Friday.  It will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers through the afternoon and early evening.  Right now rainfall amounts look like they will range from .25" to .50".  The high will stay at about 77 in the afternoon.

Friday night through the weekend will see us clearing out and cooling down.  Saturday the high will only reach 73 under mostly sunny skies.  Our weather will get even nicer Sunday with more sunshine and a high of 75.  We will actually start Sunday on a cool note.  In Chattanooga we will start with a low of 51.  Outlying areas will likely see lows in the 40s Sunday morning.

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.

The roads will be very slick including interstates and main city roads Tuesday night because of these cold temperatures. So travel should be discouraged.
