UPDATE: Logan Pickett and his family, along with Heritage Coach E.K. Slaughter will be guests of Tennessee Vols Coach Butch Jones at practice on Thursday. Logan also received an autographed photo to remember the touchdown.

Something special happened at the end of the Heritage High School game in Catoosa County on Friday night.

Down 42-0 to ranked Cartersville Hurricanes, Logan Pickett scored a touchdown to avoid the shutout.

18-year-old Logan is autistic and serves as team manager.

His mother, Danielle, is deservedly proud. She wrote on the team's Facebook page,

“For those of you who don’t know who this is, you are missing out! This is HHS Football’s biggest fan and tonight he is a player….. #7 Logan Pickett. He scored our only touchdown of the night against Cartersville. He is an amazing young man with the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. He is a senior this year and tonight he was a captain for our football team, but he will forever be captain of our hearts. We love you Logan Pickett.”

    Amazing Weather Settling In

    Wednesday, August 23 2017 5:24 AM EDT2017-08-23 09:24:47 GMT

Good Wednesday.  Today is special because it marks the first day we see our average temperature start to recede.  The average high for yesterday's date was 90.  The average high for today's date is 89. As we progress through today we will notice our humidity levels dropping and skies clearing.  Temperatures will also be about 5 degrees lower than yesterday (93 was the high in Chattanooga Tuesday).  The bottom line: awesome weather is settling in.
