Band of the Week: Sequatchie County

Posted: Updated:

On the night we captured the Indian Marching Band's performance in the stands, their football team was running away with the game. Let me tell you, these students were rowdy! Director Tim Willis, in his 4th year at the helm, says his kids do indeed have spirit. The group is 50 members strong this year and, launching off a great two weeks of band camp in June and July, they put together a show that is certainly music to heir director's ears.

Mr. Willis said he let the band pick the the theme for the last two years, so this year, it was his turn. And what did he select? Vintage rock! Their show includes some very familiar tunes the students were immediately on board with, and the standard arrangements mean you will recognize them, too. Two we loved were "Dude Looks Like a Lady" and "Twist and Shout."

The group is hosting its first marching festival on Saturday, October 3rd and competed, themselves, in the Upper Cumberland Marching Festival in Crossville, back in September.

In the stands for us, they played the ESPN theme song for us. Enjoy and thanks to Mr. Willis and the Indian Marching Band from Sequatchie County High School for being our Friday Night Football Band of the Week!
