UPDATE: Speed and weather cited in crash on Mowbray Mtn

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Speed and weather played a role in the single-car crash Friday that sent a car rolling down an embankment on Mowbray Mountain.

Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department officials say the driver lost control of the vehicle, skimmed along the top the guardrail for 25-50 feet before the vehicle flipped over the guardrail.

Firefighters used a winch and rope systems to secure the vehicle, while rescue personnel extricated the patients from the vehicle.
The two occupants were removed from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital.

PREVIOUS STORY: A car slipped off the road and went over a guard rail and down an embankment Friday morning.

The crash, on Montlake Road, involved only a single car.

First responders from Hamilton County EMS responded.

Two people were in the car, and were transported to a nearby hospital for examination and treatment. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
