UPDATE: Showers tapering off, but a soggy game night

Posted: Updated:

Soggy weather continues into the weekend. Drier, warmer conditions arrive next week.

Take your ponchos to your football games tonight. Areas of light rain/drizzle are possible along with cool lows in the upper 50s.

As an upper-level low pressure system keeps spinning over the region, periods of rain are expected again for Saturday and Saturday night. Daytime temperatures remain below normal in the middle 60s with lows in the upper 50s.

If Hurricane Joaquin stays far enough from the U.S. east coast, our upper level disturbance slowly moves to the southeast and away from us. This means showers gradually fade Sunday. A few peeks of afternoon sunshine would boost highs in the lower 70s. Some clouds and fog persist Sunday night with lows in the upper 50s.

Then we should see much drier and warmer weather Monday through Thursday with highs of 77º-80º, lows in the 50s. Spotty showers could return next Friday.
