UPDATE: Person shot twice in head on Dodds Avenue

UPDATE: Early Thursday morning, Chattanooga Police Department responded to a person shot call near Dodson Ave. 

Chattanooga police have identified the victim as 21 year-old Demetrice Joshen, who was shot twice in the head. He was transported to a nearby hospital for examination and treatment.  

Joshen’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Police say the Joshen and two other people were walking down 32nd Street towards Dodds Avenue when a four-door Toyota sedan pulled up. One person got our of the car and began shooting, hitting Joshen twice in the head.

The car was originally described by police as gray, but the description has been updated to be a gold or tan-colored vehicle.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police are at the scene of a shooting at 3113 Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga Thursday morning.

Dispatch confirms that one person has been shot. Channel 3 has learned that the victim was hit in the neck.

Police say the suspect, in a gray car with a missing fender, was last seen headed north on Dodds Avenue.
