Arkansas' Morgan emerges as top WR option after injuries
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas wide receiver Drew Morgan was considered a role player by his coaches following last season.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior is much more than that now following a rash of injuries for the Razorbacks (1-3, 0-1 Southeastern Conference), who travel to Tennessee (2-2, 0-1) on Saturday.
Following a career-best eight-catch, 155-yard receiving performance in last week's overtime loss to No. 14 Texas A&M, Morgan leads Arkansas with 18 catches for 303 yards this season.
Morgan entered this season with 10 catches for 141 yards in his career, but he has been forced into a leading role following injuries to wide receivers Keon Hatcher, Cody Hollister and Jared Cornelius.
