Darrell S. Freeman, Chattanooga native and founder of information and technology services firm Zycron, Inc., has donated 100 Google Chromebooks Computers to Brainerd High School. The computers, two per classroom, are being installed this week.

Freeman hosted a luncheon presentation in partnership with CHATECH (Chattanooga Technology Council) to commemorate the donation at Brainerd
High on Wednesday, providing tours for key Chattanooga technology, academic and community leaders.  Principal Uras Agee and Assistant Principal Dr. Charles Mitchell showcased several classrooms, spotlighting high-performing teaches and students, demonstrating how the additional technology will benefit the school.

Freeman shared his personal story of how access to education changed his life, and discussed new ways for corporations to increase and improve the local technology workforce by contributing to public education initiatives. He hopes to form a coalition of business leaders to explore commerce-driven involvement and investment in public schools in Tennessee.
