A social media company today has deemed Tennessee the fifth “least happy” state after surveying more than two dozen rankings of the states that measure a broad spectrum of categories.
And it didn’t have anything to do with that Oklahoma game.
WalletHub surveyed state-by-state rankings in 25 different metrics that include everything from binge-drinking rates and rates of heart attacks to commute times and number of work hours to volunteerism and population growth.
Tennessee fell in the below-average range in most categories – including finishing as the fourth least-safe state to live in, the second-worst state in sports participation, and the bottom 10 for the percentage of residents who get adequate sleep. Meanwhile, Tennessee was ranked high in dubious categories, such as having the fourth-highest obesity rate and the ninth-highest divorce rate.
