CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

The totals are in for the Chattanooga Fire Department’s 9th annual Firefighters Against Hunger Food Drive.

The food and money collected went to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Chattanooga firefighters collected 1,499 pounds of food and $946 in cash, which will provide 5,034 meals to people in need.

The food and money were collected during the week of August 31 through September 6, 2015.

Fire Chief Chris Adams said the fire department believes in the mission of the Food Bank and is proud to support it. “We’re glad we can assist with this worthwhile charity,” said Chief Adams, “and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to our food drive.”
