Dayton,TN (WRCB) - An amazing 506 anglers fished the Nooga Strong Bass Tournament to express their support for the families of the four fallen marines and one naval personnel in the July attack that occurred in Chattanooga, Tennessee, while they were on duty serving their community and country.  These fishermen plus others that donated and supported this event raised over $45,000.00 for the families of the fallen soldiers.

Every fishing team that won a check in this event graciously donated their winnings back to the benefit of this tournament.  To this writer’s knowledge this kind of support has never taken place in an event like this bass tournament in Dayton, Tennessee.  The weigh-in brought tears to the eyes many of the anglers and spectators.

The Chattanooga Strong Benefit Bass Tournament was held Saturday, September 12, 2015, out of Dayton, Tennessee, in honor of the four U. S Marines and one U. S Navy sailor who died on July 16 protecting their community and country and to benefit the families of the fallen marines and sailor.

This bass tournament was won by FLW Pro Wesley Strader and Cary Smith.  They weighed in 21.1 pounds to take the win.
Big bass of this event was a nice 9.4 pound largemouth caught by Wes Hardin and Jason Cook.

This event paid 45 places and again not a single place kept their check which donated another $15,000.00 to these families.

There was also a 98.63 live bass release rate in this event.

Shane Frazier, President of Chattanooga Bass Association said “special thanks to all of those who supported and sponsored this tournament and to all other organizations that helped make this Nooga Strong Benefit Bass Tournament a huge success”.
