Bristol Motor Speedway will open “a few thousand tickets” for the Battle at Bristol football game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech in 2016 to be sold on site on Battle Friday on Oct. 2, BMS vice president and general manager Jerry Caldwell announced during a press conference Thursday morning at the speedway.

Fans will also be able to go online and put their name in a ticket lottery, with a chance to purchase up to four tickets if chosen from the lottery. Four tickets is also the maximum number of tickets that will be able to be purchased and paid for at the track on Oct. 2.

The online ticket lottery will run from Oct. 2 through Nov. 2. Track officials will pull names and fill orders from the lottery on Nov. 3. Fans can choose from $40, $50 or $80 tickets.

Caldwell said that while infield grandstands are still being configured, he expects “just north of 150,000” fans at the speedway for next year’s Sept. 10 game between the Vols and the Hokies.
