CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Odds are, you've heard a football coach say, snap and clear. If not it basically means, if it doesn't end well, move on and clear your mind. Jacksonville State has made that task rather difficult for the Chattanooga Mocs football team in recent years.
"I wish we could have started practicing right after the game, just to get it out of my head." said UTC wideout Alphonso Stewart.
Some games are over and forgotten before the sun sets that night, some games sting a little more and what stings usually lingers.
The Mocs have now lost two three point games to Jacksonville State in as many seasons.
Head Coach Russ Huesman said, "like I told the team, that game isn't going to define our season."
Stewart added, "like coach said, we're not gonna let it define our season. We're much better than what we played. we know that, just gonna build on it."
Defensive lineman Vantrel McMillan said, "we still have goals, we still have goals to obtain."
Those goals don't include a loss to Mars Hill a Division-2 school coming to Finley Saturday at 1PM.
Coach Huesman said, "we better improve this week, better play smarter or it will be a long day out there on Saturday."
Stewart said, "we gotta bounce back, fast, very fast in order to do things we want to do this season."
