CHATTANOOGA, TN  (WRCB)  Notre Dame quarterback Alex Darras threw for 287 yards, 3 touchdowns with no interceptions as the Irish score 29 unanswered points in the second half en route to a convincing 39-10 over Chattanooga Christian Friday night at Notre Dame's Jim Eberle Field.

Chattanooga Christian marched on their first possession of the game, netting a 42 yard Will Patton field goal to put the Chargers up early 3-0.

Irish senior quarterback Alex Darras would connect with Trey Owten for the first of Notre Dame's touchdowns on the night to put the Irish up 7-3.

But back would come Chattanooga Christian, quarterback Matt Mercer calling his own number from 8 yards out to put the Chargers ahead 10-7.

Darras kicked a field goal before half to put the game at a 10 all draw at the break.

In the second half, it was all Notre Dame, Darras connecting on 2 more touchdown tosses and a successful pass play on a two point conversion to put the Irish up for good, 39-10 the final.

Afterward, both Darras and Head Coach Charles Fant credited the halftime pep talk from former Irish grad Tim Montgomery.

Notre Dame goes to 1-0 in district 3-AAA and face Knoxville Catholic on the road next Friday.

CCS will play host to Davidson Academy.
