KNOXVILLE, TN (WBIR) -
It would be a dream come true for Vol Nation!!
Tennessee's favorite quarterback, Peyton Manning, appeared on the Dan Patrick radio show on Thursday, talking about the upcoming season, Tom Brady's Deflate-gate, and most importantly for Big Orange fans, a possible coaching career!
Patrick asked the #VFL if he'd be more likely to be a coach or a broadcaster after his playing days are over, and Peyton said he wasn't sure he'd be either, but when Patrick followed that by asking if he could turn down a call to be Tennessee's quarterback coach, Peyton uttered every Tennessee fans fondest wish.
"Quarterbacks coach I would do at Tennessee. Head coach, absolutely not," said Peyton. "For whatever reason, people in Tennessee like me right now, Dan. If I'm head coach, cut that in half right away. They'd be asking why did you throw on 4th and 1, and why did you punt? Why not go for it there."
Peyton seems to think he could fly under the radar a bit as quarterback coach, which probably isn't really true.
Who knows how serious Peyton is, but how great would it be to have one of the greatest Vol and NFL quarterbacks of all time on the sidelines of Neyland Stadium again?
