Hot and muggy through Friday, and some weekend cooling

Posted: Updated:

Good Thursday.  It's all about the heat and humidity for the rest of the week.  Temps will be way above the average high of 87.  Don't worry about breaking any heat records, though.  We would have to get to 100 degrees to do that.

Today, look for a high of 93.  The heat index will climb to about 98.  Skies will be mostly cloudy, but the rain chance is low, only 20%.  We will have some showers to our west this afternoon, and one or two of those may drift over.

Friday will be even warmer.  The high will reach 94.  The focus of afternoon showers Friday will be to our east.  Again, one or two may drift over, but most of us will remain rain free.

The weekend will see temperatures starting to recede.  Saturday's high will reach 90 degrees, and it will climb to 87 Sunday.  Both days will have a 30% chance of scattered showers or storms.

Labor Day looks good.  The high will get to 87, and skies will be partly cloudy.  Right now I am putting the rain chance Monday at less than 20%.

It looks like temps will stay in the mid 80s through most of next week.
