Loaded AK-47 found inside Cleveland home during arrest

Posted: Updated:

Families and manicured lawns make up this neighborhood along Blount Avenue in Cleveland.

But the sound of lawn mowers and children playing were interrupted Wednesday when Fugitive Team members with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office surrounded this apartment complex.

David Brock lives here and watched it all unfold.

“They all just swooped in all at once. One went that way, the other went that way and three others went after the front door,” he said.

They were after Anturaum Montazz Dickey, 36, who was inside Apartment 1.

Dickey was wanted on federal warrants for violating probation out of Virginia.

Inside the apartment, deputies discovered a Serbian AK-47 style rifle with a fully loaded magazine under a bed.

When Channel 3 knocked on the door, a woman named “Brittany” answered. She declined to comment regarding this story.

Channel 3 discovered Dickey is no stranger to the law. He was one of 20 suspected drug dealers arrested seven years ago in a large roundup by Bradley County deputies.

Brock says Dickey moved in about two months ago and hasn’t noticed anything out of the usual which is why the arrest comes as such a surprise.

“I’ve been here three years and I’ve never had any problems with anyone or anything,” he said.

Dickey was taken into custody without incident. He now sits behind bars at the Bradley County Jail.

He now faces an additional charge for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
