UPDATE: Woman safely rescued after ATV accident in Pocket Wilderness

UPDATE: Rescue crews have safely removed the injured woman after an ATV accident in the Pocket Wilderness.

Mowbray Mountain firefighters and rescue crews hiked back into the Pocket Wilderness Wednesday to where the accident took place. 

There, they found a woman with a knee injury. Fire officials tell Channel 3 that the woman was riding an ATV it rolled over on top of her. 

Due to her injuries, she is unable to walk out on her own. 

The rope rescue team was called in to help transport the woman out, which is expected to take several hours.

This rescue comes mere hours after the overnight search effort for two young children were safely found .


PREVIOUS STORY: For the second time today Hamilton County volunteer crews have been dispatched on a rescue mission. 

Emergency responders were called to Pocket Wilderness off Montlake Road shortly after 11am.

A spokesperson for the county tells us the call came in following an ATV accident that left one person with a broken leg.

Rescue crews are on scene. Channel 3 is in en route and will keep you updated.
