SODDY DAISY, TN (WRCB) -

BREAKING: Search crews have found the two missing children that went missing Tuesday night near Mowbray Mountain.

Police says they were found together at 811 Sluder Road about two miles away from their home, with only minor scratches.

Young Hannah said they followed the dog into the woods Tuesday night then got lost. They then relied upon the dog to help them, and ended up resting near a cell tower. They slept there, with no water or food.

Their dog apparently helped lead them out of the woods Wednesday morning, whrere a resident saw them an alerted the search crews.

They will be taken back to the command center to be examined by EMS teams, but officials say they are in good condition. But they did encounter some bugs and poison ivy along the way.

UPDATE: As the search resumes Wednesday morning with the light of the morning, 45 first responders and trained volunteers from several agencies split into four teams:

  • Team 1 will search a nearby junkyard. After searching each vehicle there, searchers will mark the driver side door once everything has been searched
  • Team 2 will search around the children’s house. They will also mark family cars once they've been searched
  • Team 3 will search the area surrounding the grandparents house, which is about 1/4 mile away from parent’s home
  • Team 4 will go through trails nearby, using experienced searchers. They’ll search the area near Mowbray and Parks, then Sluder Lane to Mowbray Pike

Businesses next to staging area have shut down for day to give police access to the parking areas during the day.

Encouraging residents in area and those on the mountain to please keep eyes out for two children.

Both children are homeschooled and part of a family of nine children.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter, armed with night vision and infrared equipment, was pressed into service as searcher continues to comb the mountainside to find the two missing children Wednesday morning.

Many people have asked how to help, but police and rescue workers say the area is rugged and remote. They also suggest the best way to help is to share the photos of the children via social media.
