Good Monday. The big theme for this week will be heat and humidity building. With Tropical Storm Erika fizzling out, that will greatly reduce our rain chances this week. The average high for this time of year ranges from 86-88 degrees. We will be a bit above that all week.
Today will not be that bad. We will have a high of 86 with partly cloudy skies. A late day shower is possible, but not likely, and I am keeping the rain chance low, only 20%.
Tomorrow through Friday is when the heat and humidity kick back in as we start September. Highs will be in the low 90s with heat index values in the mid to upper 90s during the heat of the day. Each afternoon the rain chance will be small. Only 1 or 2 showers will be possible.
For the weekend, we may get a few more widely scattered showers as clouds thicken up a bit, keeping highs in the mid 80s.
In the tropics, Erika has fizzled, but now Hurricane Fred has formed in the Atlantic, just off the coast of Africa. Right now, it likes like it will fall apart well before it reaches the U.S. coastline.
