Good Saturday. Clouds will be increasing through the day with a few spotty showers and storms popping up in the afternoon. I expect a high of 86 degrees. The best chance for a shower or storm will be west of Chattanooga. Sunday, moisture from the Gulf will continue to stream in and will keep us cloudy and cool all day. The high will stay in the upper 70s, and we could see some pop up showers or storms at any point in the day. The rain chance for Sunday is 40%.
Monday and Tuesday will be fairly dry with highs returning to the mid to upper 80s.
The rest of the week will be somewhat dependent on the path of Tropical Storm Erika. Erika is expected to make landfall in the Florida panhandle Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. As it makes landfall it will be a huge rainmaker for the southeast. It could even push some showers into our area Wednesday and Thursday. As the remnants of Erika continue to push north, rain will be likely by Friday. Of course, all this relies on the exact path of Erika, but rain toward the end of the week looks to be a good bet at this point.
