HES holds fundraiser to help special needs animals

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

The folks  at the Humane Educational Society have noticed a growth in the number of animals with special needs in the scenic city.

The Adoption Center started taking in these animals to help care for them. The Humane Society explains that an animal with special needs is one that is injured or needs vet attention immediately. But in order for them to care for the animals, they need extra funding.

Bob Cirtullo, Executive Director for HES, "We have to have a fund set aside to help animals that are hit by cars that need surgery and we see that unfortunately all too often here."

If you would like to help the Humane Society care for these animals, it's holding a fundraiser Saturday night.

It will be a cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat at 10:30 p.m.
There will be light refreshments and adoptable dogs on the boat.
To purchase your ticket--just go to the HES's website
