Chattanoogans meet hometown Mocs

CHATTANOOGA, TN  (WRCB) --- Chattanoogans and UTC sports fans got to meet the 2015 Chattanooga Mocs of every sporting program Sunday at the Tennessee Pavilion.

The event, tabbed as  "Meet the Mocs at the Market" enjoyed the big crowd of fans throughout the day.

The morning's early downpour did not dampen the crowd's enthusiasm as there was a steady flow of autograph seekers and well-wishers. 

The men's and women's basketball teams highlighted the early session, followed by the football team during the mid-day rush.  The wrestlers and other programs closed out the late afternoon. 

We caught up with  Mocs sophomore point guard K.J. Bates about today's meet and greet.

" A really nice experience to interact with them on a personal basis and just to let them know we appreciate them," said Bates in between autograph seekers. " And we'd like to see them come out and support us this upcoming year," smiled Bates.

Volleyball hosts Valparaiso on Friday, August 28 in the Chattanooga Classic and the cross country season begins at home on September 11 with the PowerAde Invitational.  The next home soccer match is Sunday, Aug. 30, against Elon at 1:00 p.m.
