A McMinn County man is facing charges after he allegedly fired shots into a vehicle, missing two teens.
Deputies arrested Elishama Howard on Thursday and charged him with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of reckless endangerment.
Sheriff Joe Guy tells Channel 3 the incident happened on County Road 802 in Etowah. That's where officers responded to reports of shots fired. When they arrived they spoke to two teens who reported being shot at by a man in a car.
Investigators later identified that man as Howard. Guy says he mistook the teens for someone else he had a disagreement with earlier and fired the shots thinking he was firing at the person he fought with.
No one was injured and Guy says the teens had no connection to Howard. They were in the area to borrow a video game from a friend.
Howard was booked at the McMinn County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
