HCSO involved in vehicle pursuit; suspects still at large
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a registration violation on I-75 South at mile marker 5 near Shallowford Road on Monday night just after 8.
The vehicle, occupied by a male and female, refused to stop and HCSO deputies initiated a pursuit.
Upon approach of the Georgia line, HCSO deputies contacted the Georgia State Patrol for assistance in hopes of deploying road spikes ahead of the vehicle in order to stop the vehicle in question.
Before deputies were able to deploy road spikes or reach the Georgia State Patrol, the vehicle in question exited I-75 South at exit 345 at which time it then proceeded to Highway 41 North.
At this time, HCSO deputies called off the pursuit due to increased traffic conditions. Once crossing into Georgia, HCSO deputies were aided by Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office personnel who also assisted with the pursuit.
The vehicle is described as a green Toyota SUV with Tennessee registration and tag number 943YJJ.
Surrounding Georgia law enforcement agencies have been given the vehicle make and pertinent information.
