A Chattanooga man was arrested on sex crimes for allegedly driving to Louisiana to meet a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.
John Lynch, 53, was arrested last week in St. Bernard Parish outside New Orleans for allegedly having sex with the girl.
A deputy stopped Lynch on traffic charges Wednesday night and discovered the underage girl in the vehicle.
Detectives say the two met several months ago on the Internet and made plans to meet up.
Lynch was booked on two counts of carnal knowledge of the girl and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The girl is from New Orleans but was visiting friends in St. Bernard Parish when the two met up, according to Sheriff James Pohlmann.
Lynch is being held on a $750,000 bond at the St. Bernard Parish Jail. Authorities in Tennessee and the Louisiana Attorney General's Office are assisting in the investigation.
Lynch has no criminal history in Hamilton County and is not a registered sex offender in the state of Tennessee.
