CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Traffic investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the terrible accident Thursday night on Interstate-75 near exit 11 in Ooltewah.
The preliminary investigation suggests a semi-truck traveling northbound was unable to stop and struck 8 vehicles.
A total of 18 people were involved, 6 did not survive including two children.
Police ask that anyone who was on scene prior to the arrival of first responders, to give them a call.
Sgt David Allen, Chattanooga Police Supervisor DUI Unit, " It's what they might have seen. what they might have heard. we've seen on Facebook and comments on the news media websites people saying 'I was near there. I heard this. I saw that.' and it would give us an opportunity to follow up on what they did see or what they did hear."
Please contact police at 423-643-5222. Investigators ask you leave a detailed message with your name and contact information if no one is available to take your call.
