POLK COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

A Polk County man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after he dumped his 82 year-old great grandmother and her 74 year-old friend out of their car and abandoned them.

Mark Stevens, 18 was riding in the car with Anna Carmack, his great-grandmother and her friend, Janice Manis on June 9 at about 1:30am when Stevens became angry and forced Manis to pull into a driveway on Towee Pike.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Manis tried to take the keys out of the car's ignition when Stevens grabbed her arm and twisted it in the steering wheel. He then wrestled the keys from her hand.

Stevens then physically forced the two elderly women out of the car, injuring them both.

Both women were abandoned at a home on Towee Pike. No one was at the home, and they were unable to leave due to their age and health issues.

Stevens left in Manis' car and traveled on Towee Pike to another home, where deputies said he caused a disturbance in the driveway. He also hit a lamp post during the incident, which was reported to the Sheriff's Office.

After initially being uncooperative with deputies, Stevens later took detectives to the two victims, who were both were dehydrated and in poor physical condition. They were treated by EMS and transported to their homes

Stevens was arrested by Polk County Sheriff's Office on several felony and misdemeanor charges and transported to Polk County Justice Center.
