Good Monday. Summer may not officially start until Sunday, but why wait? The average high this time of year should be in the upper 80s. We will be in the mid 90s all week with no significant chance of rain until later in the week.
The big weather set up this week involves a stubborn ridge of high pressure that will keep the air from mixing which is what we need for any chance of rain. Today, look for a high of 96 degrees, but it will feel more like 98-100 during the heat of the day. The chance of rain today is less than 20%.
Tuesday will be exactly like today. Hot and humid with no real chance of rain. The high will once again climb to 96.
Wednesday, the high pressure ridge will begin to break apart, and that may allow for one or two stray showers or storms. I am keeping the rain chance low, however, at 20%. The main feature of Wednesday will also be heat and humidity with the high getting to 95.
A front will finally move through Thursday. While it looks as though it could bring some welcomed showers and storms late Thursday, it will not provide relief from the heat and humidity. We will climb to 95 on Thursday afternoon. It will stay in the mid 90s Friday through the weekend with a few afternoon showers and storms possible each day.
