Drug suspect escapes from custody in DeKalb County, AL

DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) - Two people are arrested after DeKalb County deputies execute a drug search warrant Sunday.

Deputies served the warrant at a residence on County Road 696 in the McKestes area.  When they searched the home, they found 80 grams of Ice Methamphetamine with a street value of $8,000.00, 3 loaded pistols, a large set of postal scales, numerous glass pipes and syringes. 
Deputies arrested Anthony Earl Renfroe, 47 and Courtney Dawn Steele, 34 both of Dawson. Renfroe was charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs. Steele was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

While Agents and Deputies were finishing up on the scene and loading up equipment, they noticed that Steele had escaped through the window of the deputies' car with her hands handcuffed behind her back. Courtney Dawn Steel is still at large and is facing felony Drug charges and escape charges. Courtney Dawn Steel is 34 years old with dark brown hair, about 5'4 and weighs about 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt and blue jeans.
