Good Monday. The warm, muggy air we saw over the weekend will continue today. Look for a high of 88 degrees. For the Bessie Smith Strut this evening we can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms as a front moves through the area. Some of the stronger storms could produce heavy rain, lots of lightning and gusty winds. I anticipate showers and storms to continue on and off into late tonight, then taper off overnight into Tuesday morning.
Tuesday we will start with a morning low of 69 degrees. Tuesday afternoon will be warm and humid with a high near 90. Skies will be partly cloudy, and we should stay rain free as high pressure builds in behind the front. That stable air should last through Wednesday. It will keep the rain away but the heat and humidity will persist as the high reaches about 90 once again.
Thursday through the weekend will be a pretty typical late spring pattern. Highs will be in the upper 80s and there will be a few showers and storms popping up each afternoon.
