High-speed motorcycle chase ends in crash

DALTON, GA (WRCB) -

A traffic stop took a serious turn when a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding Tuesday on Interstate 75 north at Mile Marker 318, south of Dalton.

The motorcycle rider didn't stop, and the trooper began chasing the motorcycle.

The chase ended when the rider lost control and crashed on I-75 north near mile marker 341, near the Tunnel Hill/Varnell exit.

The motorcycle rider, a male, was injured in the crashed and airlifted to a nearby hospital for examination and treatment.

The GSP says charges are pending.
