A Hamilton County man faces charges for assaulting his 14-year-old stepson.

Friday, officers responded to Triton Circle where the victim was located. He was taken to Children's Hospital where he told deputies that his stepdad Christopher Brock and he had gotten into a fight over missing keys. Brock became upset and flipped the couch, then a mattress and then began dumping drawers from a dresser. He then began to hit the child with a video game cable, punching the child, beating the child's head against the floor, kicking him and throwing items at him.

The child managed to get out of the house and ran to a neighbor's to call police.

The detective spoke with Brock who denied hitting the child. But the marks were consistent with the child's story. The emergency room doctor agreed. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Channel 3, the detective went to the house where the incident happened and saw the disarray.

Brock was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
